This page explains what Reymont stores, where it lives, and who it's shared with. The short version: your books never leave your device, and the data we do collect is limited to what's needed to run the app and process payments.
Your EPUB files. Books you add are stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) and are never sent to our servers or anyone else's. Uninstalling the browser or clearing site data removes them permanently — we cannot recover them.
Your own OpenAI key, if you add one in settings. It is stored only in localStorage on your device and is sent only to OpenAI, directly from your browser.
We use Supabase (EU-hosted Postgres) for accounts and highlight sync. If you sign in, we store:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Passwordless sign-in (magic link) and, if you're a Premium subscriber, billing contact |
| Highlights: selected text, the surrounding paragraph, translation, and any web/Wikipedia/image results | So a saved highlight opens instantly from cache on any device you sign into |
| A book identifier (derived from the file name and size, not the file itself) | To match highlights to the right book across devices |
| Premium subscription status and Stripe customer ID | To unlock unlimited highlights |
Each account can only read and write its own rows — enforced by database-level row security, not just application code.
| Service | What it receives | When |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | The text you select and its surrounding paragraph (for translation and web search) | Every lookup, whether via our built-in AI or your own key |
| Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons | The selected term, to fetch a summary card and images | Short selections only |
| Supabase | Account and highlight data described above | If you sign in |
| Stripe | Payment details, handled entirely by Stripe — we never see your card number | If you subscribe to Reymont Premium |
We do not sell your data, run ads, or share it with anyone beyond what's needed to provide the service above.
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The only browser storage is functional: IndexedDB for your books and highlights, and localStorage for settings and your Supabase login session.
Deleting a book or a highlight in the app removes it from your device immediately, and from our servers if you're signed in. To delete your account and all associated highlights, contact us through the request form in the app — we'll confirm once it's done.
Reymont is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
If this policy changes materially, we'll note the new date at the top of this page.
For any privacy question or data request, use the request form inside the app (Settings → Sign in → Reymont Premium modal), or reach the operator described in our Terms of Service.
